Today people (and pets) from all around the nation are coming together as part of a non-violent rally for equal rights. Here in Phoenix, AZ the Stop the H8 rally is at the Cesar Chavez Memorial at 11:30 AM. That's 200 W. Washington St. Phoenix, AZ. You can learn more and find your own location at jointheimpact.com
Marriage equality is only one piece of the picture. At this time in our nation there is a lack of equality for many be it lack protections from loss of job, home, child or other. There is especially a lack of understanding and legal protection for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queeer, Intersexed. So stand up, be you LGBTQI or one of our many straight allies, stand together, and keep on sending your pics and videos to humans4equality@gmail.com no matter where you're from, just like these students did so that you too can eventually end up on this here blog ;)

All my love, respect and gratitude goes out to these 6 individuals who shared their photos here today. May your passion for equal human rights spread like wildfire!
To my gender diverse readers, (that means everyone!)
You may have wondered why this blog has been silent this week? I have been busy on the streets and behind the scenes supporting Equal Rights. But never fear, Gender DiverCity does not stand silent, it stands in waiting. Waiting for what you may ask?
Waiting for each and every one of you to take a picture with yourself, be you "Cheese-head" or otherwise, proudly holding up the word human in an effort to remind the world that we are all humans. In this great nation, our founding fathers said that "we hold these truths self evident that all men are created equal" we should not have to fight for equal rights, but we do. Why? Because all humans have NOT YET been afforded the same rights and recognition under the law in this country.
California, Arizona, AND Florida have all voted (by narrow margins I might add) to add discrimination into their constitution. This is unprecedented and just plain wrong. In a time when 70% of all marriages end in divorce, why anyone would legislate against love is beyond me. We need more love in this world. No matter what your political leanings, I am sure you agree with that.
And if you haven't yet, please watch this video by news anchorman Keith Olbermann:

My thanks to Carlie, Ethan, James, Sister Mischif, and Milo for the use of their pictures.
Is Gender A Part of Unconditional Love? - December, 2007
Gender DiverCity is an attempt to look at the diverse humanity in our world through the lens of gender identity and presentation.
I want to photograph all humans be they red, yellow, black or white, gay, straight, bi or otherwise, square, triangle, or circle, whomever you are.
If you would like to have your photo taken, please read the Frequently Asked Questions. You can find them by clicking on the link on the right hand side of the Gender DiverCity Blog.
Women come in many shapes, colors, attitudes, and types. You never know what you're going to get, but today I'd like to celebrate the beauty of women by sharing some of the diverse women who have joined our gender diverse little community here at Gender DiverCity.

This month I have spent most of my time in bed or at the doctor's so it has given me a lot of time to think back over the last year and some of my favorite memories. I apologize for the spotty posting here at Gender DiverCity of Late and have set a reminder so that if I do nothing else on Mondays at least I will post here.
This week I have decided to share some of my favorite memories of friends new and old I have worked with for this blog. Some of these may be repeats or similar to photos you've seen of these people, but I want to send my heart felt thanks to each person who has posed for me and shared their words about gender. To quote a dear friend, "GENDER: My Cup Runneth Over!"
I want to photograph all humans be they red, yellow, black or white, gay, straight, bi or otherwise, square, triangle, swirly or circle, whomever you are.

The man behind the camera, or Sean-Michael, it's all good to me!
This project is one of many for me, but it is the one which most closely has captured my heart.

I am amazed at the depth of thought, clarity of understanding, and true sharing from each participant. It is a gift to the world.
I ask each to bear their thoughts and themselves to the world through my lens. Thank you for sharing a part of your identity with the world in this way. Together, I believe we create a more openly diverse and welcoming place for all human beings.
